1500 bucks! Pffft! You’ve probably got that under a couch cushion!
Stopped for lunch today with my family at a McDonald’s in Virginia and all the televisions were tuned to FOX News*. The bit I saw was Megyn Kelly mocking the democrats for fighting “tooth and nail” to save families making 50,000 “only” 1500 a year. She said something along the lines of “You’d think they’d saved them the full 50,000.” Well, Megyn, there are plenty of people who don’t want more than a 100 bucks a month to disappear from their paychecks. For me, that’s just valuable beer money. But for, say, a family of 4, that’s food money. That’s an electrical bill. That’s a car payment. Shithead.
I need to find that clip but I’ve been on Amtrak for the last 9 hours and the wifi has been sporadic at best.
*When we were leaving, Mom went to find the manager to talk to him about why did they have all the TVs tuned to Fox. He said he’d be happy to change the channel to what people want but “no Jerry Springer!” The owner wanted Fox News on, he went on to explain, because “everyone likes and agrees with it.” Mom told him that if she lived here, she would not come back to his restaurant. “Over that?” “Yes!” “You’re the first person who has ever complained about it,” the manager said in disbelief. “Well, this is Virginia,” my mother scoffed.
