Whiskey Slush Recipe

I’ve posted this before but if you get a move on, you can make this for your various celebrations tomorrow:

I generally double the recipe as it goes pretty fast:

  • 1 12-ounce can frozen orange juice
  • 1 12-ounce can frozen lemonade
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 2 cups of black tea
  • 6 cups of water
  • 2-1/2 cups whiskey (or half the bottle…either/or…heh)
  • 7-up
In a freezeable container, toss in the oj and lemonade and six cups of water.  Boil water  and brew 2 cups strong tea . Add the sugar to tea then add tea to the oj/lemonade mixture. Stir. Add whiskey, stir and put container in the freezer.  Should take 12 hours or so to freeze, but the more whiskey and the bigger the batch takes a little longer. (Also, I have substituted the frozen lemonade and half the water with Paul Newman’s non-frozen lemonade… which is very tasty).

When frozen, scoop into glass — fill 3/4s of glass — and add 7-up to fill glass.  Voila!
